Auto-reply Zalo OA is the feature to automatically send standard replies when customers text the Official Account - helping businesses respond immediately even after hours. If a customer "keeps asking but doesn't get an answer" on Zalo, it's usually not because auto-reply isn't turned on, but because auto-reply is not configured correctly, messages are left between tabs, or no one takes over after the automatic answer. Zenify records that businesses with standard Zalo auto-reply configurations increase their conversion rate (approved).
TL;DR
- Auto-reply Zalo = automatically reply to standard sentences when customers text OA.
- "The customer asked but did not receive a response" = 4 reasons: not turned on, misconfigured, missing information, no one takes over.
- Auto-reply just "reply first" — needs someone to take over afterwards.
- Clearly decentralize who handles information, avoid "everyone thinking someone else is worried".
- Merge Zalo with other channels so you don't miss any news.
Why do customers "keep asking but don't get an answer"
4 most common causes:
1. Auto-reply is not enabled properly
Do not configure automatic replies when the customer messages for the first time.
Don't turn on reply after hours - customers text late at night and no one responds.
2. Content misconfiguration
Auto-reply has a greeting but no information the customer needs → the customer continues to ask but no one answers.
The script does not have questions to collect needs → the customer does not know what else to say.
3. News is lost between tabs
Client messages are in the "Requests" or "Pending Messages" tab and no one approves them.
Many staff came in to watch but no one was in charge.
4. There is no takeover
Auto-reply finished answering, but the staff did not answer again → the customer waited, got upset, and left.
This is the most common reason — auto-reply is good but "human hands" are not there.
Configure Zalo OA auto-reply correctly
Step 1: Turn on automatic replies when the customer messages for the first time
Hello sir/madam! Thank you for contacting [Business name]. How can I help you?
Step 2: Add overtime answers
Currently outside working hours (8am-6pm). I will respond as soon as possible the next morning. Urgent need, please call [number].
Step 3: Add common answers
Turn on automatic reply mode by keywords if any: "price", "delivery", "address"...
Make sure the answer has enough information that customers need.
Step 4: Delegate authority to the person taking over
Specify clearly who processes Zalo messages in what time frame.
Turn on new news notifications for the person in charge — no one "forgets to open".
Avoid 3 auto-reply errors on Zalo
Auto-reply replaces the person answering — customers need real advice but only receive mechanical questions.
No separation of powers — everyone sees, no one is responsible, trust lies dormant.
Not checking regularly — old script, old price, wrong phone number.
When volume increases: add Zalo to the system
If the business has Facebook, livechat, Shopee — cannot manage Zalo separately:
Merge Zalo OA into the channel consolidation system (see Multi-channel consolidation).
Zalo news becomes a conversation/ticket with someone in charge, alerting new news.
Measure FRT, number of messages, volume — know how much Zalo is taking up.
