Dropshipping and selling goods with inventory are clearly different at customer service: Dropshipping does not control the quality of goods, delivery time and supplier's inventory; Inventory can be controlled but it costs capital. Both require quick responses, tight order tracking, and good after-sales service — just different handling. Zenify recorded a 21% increase in conversion rate (approved).

TL;DR
- Dropshipping: quality risks, slow delivery, supplier backlog.
- Inventory: better control, capital consuming.
- Both need quick response and order tracking.
- Dropshipping returns are more complicated.
- Select model according to controllability.

How are the two models different?

Criteria | Dropshipping | Inventory

Quality Control | Poor — depends on NCC | Good — check before sending

Delivery time | Longer — more stitches | Faster

Inventory | No need to worry about capital or risk of running out of stock NCC | Capital-consuming, self-managed

Return | Complex — who to return? | Controllable

Initial capital | Low | Higher

Customer service differences between the two models

1. Product quality

Dropshipping: not checking before sending - customers only know when they receive defective goods, leading to more complaints.

Inventory: can be controlled, reducing quality complaints.

2. Thời gian giao

Dropshipping: Delivery takes a long time, delays can easily occur — proactive notification must be made in advance (see Late orders).

Inventory: Fast delivery, more accurate appointment.

3. Returns

Dropshipping: complicated — where does the customer return it, will NCC accept it back?

Inventory: clear return, check, exchange/refund (see Return process).

4. Tồn kho sai

Dropshipping: NCC is out of stock after selling — must notify customer and exchange product.

Inventory: more accurate synchronization (see Multi-channel order processing).

How to take care of customers when dropshipping

Honest delivery time: Clearly state the real time, do not promise too fast.

Choose a reputable NCC: check quality, speed, error rate.

Proactively reporting late: The supplier is late → notify the customer immediately, don't hide it.

Take care of returns: pre-arranged with NCC, customers don't know "how" they bought.

How to take care of customers when there is inventory

Check goods before sending: reduce complaints about defective goods.

Standard delivery: fast, on time — big advantage.

Easy return: Clear return, exchange/refund.

Take advantage of fast delivery within the city: advantages over dropshipping (see Delivery Handbook).

The common point is to do well

Respond quickly — customers wait and go (see Why customers don't buy).

Track orders closely — customers can check them themselves (see Tracking orders).

Thoughtful after-sales — buy again (see After-sales care).
